Junior Singers is a singing group for children aged seven years upwards.  We rehearse at SS Peter & Paul church on Wednesdays, 4.30 – 5.30 pm.  The group enjoys learning both sacred and secular music. 

At the moment the Junior Singers join with the choir for practice on the second Friday, and All Age Service on the second Sunday each month.  It is hoped that soon some of them will be joining the choir more often.  Our aim in training the group is to help the children find a singing voice, and give them the basic grounding they need in order to sing with a choir. 

An important part of their training is the RSCM ‘Voice for Life’ scheme.  This is an excellent scheme.  It enables singers to gain a good vocal technique whilst learning how to lead the singing during worship.  The scheme also covers some theory of music.  Five of the Junior Singers have already achieved their light blue ribbon and medallion, which is the first level of the scheme.
